Job Description: Aerospace Quality Inspector
Position Summary:
The Aerospace Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring the compliance of aerospace technology products with industry and regulatory standards. This role involves performing thorough inspections of aircraft components, systems, and assemblies to ensure they meet quality requirements and specifications. The Aerospace Quality Inspector will play a crucial role in maintaining safety, reliability, and compliance in the aerospace industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct detailed inspections of aerospace components, systems, and assemblies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Utilize various inspection techniques, such as visual inspection, dimensional measurement, non-destructive testing, and documentation review, to assess the quality of aerospace products.
3. Inspect and verify conformity of materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products to relevant engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
4. Identify and document any defects, non-conformities, or deviations from established quality standards, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address and rectify these issues.
5. Maintain accurate and comprehensive inspection records, reports, and documentation, ensuring proper traceability and adherence to quality management systems.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and production personnel, to resolve quality-related issues and improve overall product quality.
7. Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
8. Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes related to aerospace quality standards, and implement necessary adjustments to inspection processes and procedures.
9. Provide guidance and support to production personnel regarding quality requirements, standards, and best practices.
10. Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control processes, procedures, and tools to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. (Note: Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
2. Proven experience in aerospace quality inspection, preferably within an aviation or aerospace manufacturing environment.
3. In-depth knowledge of aerospace quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
4. Proficient in using various inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, gauges, micrometers, and CMMs.
5. Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods, such as liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, and ultrasonic testing.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve quality-related issues.
7. Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in inspection activities.
8. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
9. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate inspection results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
10. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
